Parayanam of Brahadaranya Upanisad at Sri Adi Sankara Sannidhi at Kamakshi Temple, Kanchipuram.

Brahma Sri Mahadeva Ghanapatigal of Sri Shuklayajurveda Patashala, Kanchipuram and Brahma Sri R. Dhandapani Ghanapatigal of Tambaram, Chennai performed the Parayanam of Brahadaranya Upanisad in the Sannidhi of Sri Adi Sankara at Kamakshi Amman Temple on the Tuesday, 23rd January 2007, which is the Shukla Panchami Day. It is proposed that this Brahadaranya Upanisad Parayanam will be performed on each Shukla Panchami Day, the next Shukla Panchami Day falls on Thursday, 22nd February 2007. Guruvara Vazhipadu (Thursday Bhajans/Lectures)

Sri Matam Sir Maha Swamigal Athishtana Guruvara Vazhipadu Manram was started on 7th September 2000 with blessings of Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal. Since then every week on Thursday (as Thursdays are days for paying respect to our Gurus) a number of Bhajans, Lectures are organized regularly without break. This Manram has got about 200 Life members including Patrons.

The programme starts Saiva Thirumurai recitation by Odhuvars at 5PM followed by other Bhajans. After this one chapter of Deivathin Kural will be read and discussed.

Special lectures on various Tamil Epics like Periya Puranam, Kanchi Puranam. Mahabharatham, Kamba Ramayanam, Thiruvilaiyadal Puranam, Bhagavatham etc are being held by famous Vidwans and Professors. These are well attended by devotees.

The Manram has published so far about 20 religious books on various topics. It has also celebrated the Annual Function in September 2006.
