The 73rd Jayanthi of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati HH Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji was celebrated in a grand manner on Tuesday 31 July 07 at Srimatam, Kanchipuram.

The day commenced with Viswaroopa Darshan by Pujyasri Acharya. His Holiness performed pujas at the Adhistanam of Pujyasri Mahaswamiji in srimatam. Led by elephants and nadasvaram, His Holiness went in a procession to the sri Kamakshi Amman temple, performed abhishekam and pujas there. Traditional temple honours were accorded by Holiness. HH Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamiji performed Abhishekam to HH Jagadguru Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamiji with waters sanctified in the homams performed earlier. Flower abhishekam was also performed. Advaita Vedanta sadas, Veda Parayanam, Music concerts and discourses by eminent scholars were held with religious fervour. Devotees participated in the various pujas and received the Blessings of Pujyasri Acharya Swamijis.

Asthana Vidvan of Srimatam and Eminent Saxophone player Sri Kadri Gopalnath gave a concert in the evening, accompanied by Violinist smt. Kanyakumari and other percussionists.
