During His recent Yatra to Tripura to preside over the Viswa Shanti Mahayagna at the famous pilgrim center, Matabari, housing the Sri Tripuresvari mandir, His Holiness Pujyasri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji visited PILAK, a village 50 kms from there.

Recently, there has been a find of Shiva linga and other idols preceded a few months ago, by a large idol of Suryanarayana in a standing posture and with Padmams in both hands, and a remnant of a platform indicative of an existence of a large temple also and a city there in early days. These discoveries were made by thearcheological department.
