Marking the conclusion of the Chaturmasya Vratam, Pujyashri Acharyal performed Vishwaroopa Yatra this evening (20 Sep.) from Sri Mahaswami Manimandapam, Orikkai, Kanchipuram to Sri Kailashanatha Swami Temple at Sivalingamedu (Sevilimedu).


After darshan and deeparadhana at Sri Mahaswami sannadhi and Sri Chandramouleeswara Puja Sannadhi, His Holiness left for Sevilimedu, one of the perimeters of Kanchipuram. At Sevilimedu, Pujyashri Acharyal was received with poornakumbham and walking in a procession for close to 2 kilometers from the main road along the banks of the lake, Sri Acharyal reached Sri Kailasanatha Swami temple. A large number of devotees participated in the yatra. Nadaswaram, melam and other auspicious instruments were at the head of the procession. Sri Acharyal blessed the villagers.

After darshan and deeparadhana at the sannadhis, Bhagavat Gita Parayanam was performed followed by Shri Krishna Puja. Thereafter, His Holiness blessed the gathering with Anugraha Bhashanam. Prasadam from Shri Kamakshi Ambal Devasthanam, Sri Chidambaram Sri Nataraja Swami Temple and other temples were offered. Pujyashri Acharyal returned to Shrimatam camp at Orikkai. Various books including Bhajana Ratnakaram were released on the occasion. Eminent scholars were honoured. 
The Viswaroopa Yatra is performed on the Bhadrapada Poornima (20 Sep this year), signifying the conclusion of the Chaturmasya Vratam – that begins with the Vyasa Pooja on the Ashada Poornima day. Yatra danam is performed after which, Pujyashri Acharya proceeds on the Vishvaroopa Yatra. After crossing the perimeter, Lord Krishna is invoked with the Shloka Vasudeva sutam Devam, Kamsa Chanoora Mardanam I Devaki Paramanandam Krishnam Vande jagadgurum II and Sri Krishna Pooja is performed. After this, the XI Chapter of Srimad Bhagavad Gita is chanted, as per customs. Important verses are repeated by the assembled gathering. The puja concludes with deepa Aradhana for Lord Krishna.
