This sacred spot is traditionally associated with the construction of the Main Gopuram of Shri Ekambaranathar Temple, from where a ramp was laid for the movement of materials. Lord Vinayaka, whose blessings ensured the successful completion of this monumental task, is revered here as Sara Vinayaka.
