Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetadhipati Jagadguru Pujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji inaugurated the Kanchi Guruparampara Shankara Eye Hospital today in Saharsa, Bihar. Sri Giriraj Singh, Union Minister of textiles, MP from Begusarai, Bihar and Sri Sigriwal, MP, Maharajganj, Bihar, Mayor of Saharsa, DM participated in the function. A beautiful mural of Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya with four Sishyas and stone plaque about the inauguration was unveiled. Due to heavy rains on the previous night the venue of the event which was specially erected was shifted to the frontage of the hospital in the backdrop of Adi Shankara. Shri Shankar, Wing Commander Rtd & Trustee of Shankara Hospital gave the important highlights of the facilities. Shri Sigriwal ji spoke about the importance of the hospital for Bihar and Sri Giriraj Singh ji said that when four pillars namely Dharma, Service attitude , Society & Government come together, it results in such institutions dedicated to people. He listed the ancient connection of Kanchi & Bihar in the context of Adi Shankara and Mandana Mishra and appealed for Pathashala on Gurukul lines to train youth in Bihar at Mahishi.
His Holiness Puujyashri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamiji spoke about Vidya, Vaidyam & #Veda as core service areas of Kanchi Math as per Upadesh of Adi Shankara. His Holiness said that Bihar is a developed state in terms of following culture. His Holiness exhorted people to follow #Dharma and time tested value systems of nation. Stressing need for culture education His Holiness said that for sake of good employment one may equip in contemporary education, AI etc but it is essential that one must be a cultured person with foundation in Indian ethos and Dharma. Quoting Sastras that eye is the most important Indriya - Sarvendriyanam Nayanam Pradhanam, His Holiness said that Shankara group of eye hospitals are offering best eye care to one & all in the country with about 20+ hospitals. His Holiness said that the new eye hospital will cater to Saharsa and nearby regions including Nepal and would save people from distant travel and associated expenses. With prayers to Chandramouleeshwara & Maha Tripurasundari and Ganapati His Holiness blessed one & all for peace and prosperity.
