Monthly Sadas at Kaamaakshi Mandali, Chennai - A report
Established with the benign blessings of Their Holiness of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, Kaamaakshi Mandali, Chennai 33 is involved in several service activities for the welfare of public at large and people who seek spiritual solace in particular. The Mandali is operating in the premises of Sri Kanchi Sankara Mutts West Mambalam (Chennai.33) branch.
Kaamaakshi Mandali conducts a monthly vidwat sadas (a seminar of scholars involving in discussions/presenting papers on the purport of different Saastraas in chaste Sanskrit language). This sadas (seminar) is conducted every month, mostly on the first Sunday between 3.00 & 5.00 pm. It was started on 14.06.2005 and so far, nearly 60 meetings have been held. Nearly 10 scholars of Sanskrit participate regularly . A presentation normally would last for 10 to 15 minutes. Scholars include

8) Sri. Navin Sarma, (Lecturer, The Madras Sanskrit College, Chennai)

The Acharyas of Kanchi, who are very particular in propagating our Saastraas through Sanskrit among public, in order to strengthen the roots of Sanatana Dharma, offer their Anugraham/Blessings to this Sadas. A Sadas is organized every Thursday at Kanchi Sankara Mutt for past 35 years without a break. The Acharyas wished that such a sadas must be held every month in Chennai. Kamaakshi Mandali was chosen and entrusted by the Acharyas to conduct the Sadas every month in West Mambalam Sankara Mutts premises, enabling the scholars of Chennai to participate in it.
Kaamaakshi mandali also conducts a special Vidwat Sadas during Sankara Jayanthi celebrations every year, where vaakyaarthaas/Paper presentations are delivered in Adwaita vedaanta alone. Dr. Goda Sastrigal also offers the essence of every paper in Tamil language after the completion of every presentation. Aastikaas are requested to support the mandali by all means to serve Sanatana Dharma.
