In a land renowned for its temples and in the city of a thousand temples - Nagareshu Kanchi, Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam has established a Shilpa Patasala to bring out trained sculptors with knowledge of our Traditional Sastras and Agamas relevant to sculpture and temple construction. The role of the shilpis (also called Sthapatis) trained on traditional lines is important as they not only build new temples but help maintain and preserve the existing temples through restoration and renovation.

The Patasala is located in the serene and divine precincts of Sri Kamakshi Ambal Temple. The fifth batch of students of the Patasala were enrolled in the year 2006.
