Kumbhabhishekam of Newly renovated Gopuram at Kalahasti 2/2/2017

The Gopuram of Sri Kalahasteeswara Temple was consecrated in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal on 2nd February, 2017. Some days back in the third week of January 2017, both the Acharyas had camped at Kalahasti and performed Chandramouleesgwara Swamy Puja after concluding Margazhi Masa month long Pujas at Shankar Math Tirupati. During the camp the newly built Gopuram was dedicated to the temple in the divine presence of His Holiness Pujya SriJayendra Saraswathi Swamigal & His Holiness Pujya Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal by Navayuga Construction Group who undertook the renovation. After returning back to Kanchi in view of Kamakshi Temple Kumbhabhishekam which was slated 9th February, His Holiness Pujya Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal again came to Kalahasti on 31st January evening to perform the Kumbhabhisehakam of the Gopuram which was originally scheduled on 1st February, morning. In the last moment the Kalashasams were not able to be taken on the 135 plus feet Gopuram. Big Cranes were brought to take the heavy Kalashams atop but could not be done. Amidst lot of confusion & discussion at that time, His Holiness advised another Kalam of Yagashala Pujas on 1st February and to perform the Gopuram Kumbhabhishekam immediately on 2nd February, 2017. Message was taken to Kanchi where Senior Acharya was performing Pujas for His blessings and His Holiness Bala Periyava stayed for another day at Kalahasti. Finally the consecration took place in his divine presence on 2nd February, 2017. The temple officials led by the Chairman & Executive Officer Smt Bhramaramba received His Holiness & were very much relieved after the event and submitted their gratitude to Kanchi Acharyas. The Kalahasti town which was earlier worried due to the fall of the 500 year old Gopuram some years ago were very happy with the Gopuram Kumbhabhisehkam. Later on 8th February the Kalahastishwara Swamy temple (Entire temple) Kumbhabhishekam was performed in the divine presence of His Holiness Jagadguru Pujya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal. His Holiness Sri Periyava & Sri Bala Periyava performed Kamakshi temple Kumbhabhishekam on 9th February, 2017.
