Shrimatam Camp at Irulneeki-13 Dec. 2018

Shrimatam camp commenced from Vallam in the early hours of 13th Dec and reached Irulneeki via Thanjavur, Mannargudi and Adityapuram. Enroute, His Holiness visited the house of Sri Brahmasri Raju Sastrigal, who was a great scholar in Vedas, Vedanta, Dharma Sastra& other allied subjects. The house now is under Shrimatam. The house was affected by the Gaja cyclone. Many trees in the backyard and some adjoining walls had been affected by the cyclone. Pujyashri Acharyal then visited Adityapuram village. Later His Holiness reached outskirts of Irulneeki village from where His Holiness walked for about 2kms to reach Janmasthanam of His Holiness Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal. His Holiness then performed Sri Chandramouleeshwara Puja.
Devotees of Srimatam had contributed Rice, groceries and solar lamps to people affected by the cyclone. This visit of His Holiness provided a healing touch to the people of the region.
His Holiness then left Irulneeki at 4 PM and visited Periyakudi village. The village is the native village of Sri MahadevaIyer (Poorvashrama Father of HH Pujya Sri Jayendra Saraswathi Swamigal). The Siva Temple, Pushkarini, Draupadi Amman temple, Mahadeva Iyer Shatabdi Mantapam were visited by His Holiness. The people of the village enthusiastically accompanied His Holiness to all the places and received blessings. His Holiness constantly stopped to bless prasadams to the residents of the villages. His Holiness then left for Tirukotikaval village via Tiruvarur and Mayavaram. At Tiruvarur, His Holiness was received with Purnakumbham by devotees at various junctions. Then His Holiness reached Mayavaram. Devotees had assembled at the outskirts of Mayavaram to receive His Holiness. His Holiness then visited Sankara School at Senthangudi Agraharam where a new building was inaugurated and then visited Agama Pathashala at Rettai Street. Devotees had darshan at the Pathashala. The students of the Pathashala recited shlokas and received Prasadam. His Holiness then walked to Sri Gnanambika Sameta Sri Vadanyeshwara Swamy temple. After darshan at Swami and Ambal shrines, His Holiness visited Medha Dakshinamurthy Shrine where the God was adorned with Golden Kavacham. It was a Guruvaram. Special temple prasadams and honours were given to His Holiness. His Holiness arrived at Tirukkotikaval at 8.30 PM where He was received at the Agraharam by devotees led by Sri Muthuraman. Veda Ghosham, Nadaswaram Elephant & fireworks were part of the welcome event. After giving darshan to all assembled devotees, His Holiness retired for the day.
