122nd Jayanthi of His Holiness Pujya Shri Chandrashekharendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal, 68th Acharya of Shri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam was held at Kanchipuram, Srimatam Camp at Mylapore Sanskrit College and various other places.

Kanchipuram:
Veda Parayana, Shastra Sabha & Maharudram was held at the Adhishthanam. Purnahuti & Vidwat Sambhavana was held in the presence of His Holiness Pujya Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal.

Renowned Shastra Vidwans from Southern states took part in the three day Shastra Sabha. Annadanam was performed to large number of people. Later in the evening, the portrait of Pujyashri Mahaswamigal was taken around in Golden Chariot amidst chanting of Vedas and Nadaswaram recital.

Being a Tuesday and Pournami, Sahasra (1000) Suvasini Puja was held with the blessings of Pujya Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal and His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal at Hemamalini Kalyana Mandapam. His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal blessed the event with Anugraha Bhashanam.
His Holiness then graced the Jayanthi celebrations in Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan jointly conducted with the Veda Patha Nidhi Trust. The event began with a puja to portrait of Mahaswamigal and chanting of Rig, Yajur and Sama Vedas. His Holiness Pujya Shri Shankara Vijayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya Swamigal then gave His Anugraha Bhashanam. A book “ Mahaswamigalin Arulurai” containing speeches of Mahaswami delivered during 1932 Chaturmasya in Mylapore published by Kalaimagal was released. The first copy was blessed to Justice(Retd.) NV Balasubramaniam and to Former Advocate General Shri Parasharan. His Holiness then left to the camp.
His Holiness then started the procession of a palanquin used by Pujyashri Mahaswamigal. A portrait of Pujyashri Mahaswamigal sitting in palanquin was kept in it. It was taken around to various places in Mylapore which Pujyashri Mahaswamigal had visited during His stay here. Accompanied with Vedic Chanting, Nadaswaram & Bhajans, Devotees carried placards containing various messages of Pujyashri Mahaswamigal like Pidi Arisi Thittam, Mouna Vratam, Upavasam, Japa, Seva etc.
The procession stayed overnight in Kalyan Nagar Association and returned to the camp today early morning.
